This family run winery is located in the heart of the District of Neive, among the rolling hills of the Langhe zone, a land of great wines and ancient wine-making traditions. Passed down through generations, Elio Filippino is the current winemaker, and together with his family, contribute to the production of high quality wines.
Under Elio’s stewardship, the winery continues to practice as many traditional and natural methods as possible without using chemical fertilizers or herbicides. To this end, the vineyard grass is cut by hand, and only natural bovine or equine fertilizers are applied in alternate years. Traditional winemaking, along with biodynamic vineyard practices, makes this winery a standout.
From Elio Eilippino, we are proud to offer an outstanding selection of wines, which currently include the following: a 2013 Barbera d'Alba "Vigna Veja" (meaning 'old vines'); a 2014 Barbera d'Alba Superiore "Barba Cesco" (91 pts Anthony Gismondi); a 2010 Barbaresco San Cristoforo; a 2016 Cortese di Gavi; a 2012 limited edition Spumante Brut Rose; and a 2012 Barolo "La Morra" (91 pts Wine Enthusiast). Stay tuned for the arrival of two special reserve Barbaresco's - a 5 and 10-year vintage - by this summer! (July 2018 update - we are sorry to announce we are now SOLD OUT of the Barbaresco Riserva’s… we hope to have more arriving by late 2018)
The year 2018 marks a very special year for the estate - celebrating 50 years of winemaking and 20 years under Elio's stewardship. Please refer to the following link for additional information about the estate and wines of Elio Filippino: https://eliofilippino.com
